Oracle strengthens its commitment to Saudi Arabia’s digital future with the opening of its second Cloud Region in Riyadh.
In a major step towards supporting Saudi Arabia's digital evolution, Oracle has unveiled its second Cloud Region in the Kingdom. The new Riyadh Cloud Region is a crucial part of Oracle’s US$1.5 billion investment aimed at fostering the rapid digital transformation of the region’s economy.
This new addition complements Oracle’s existing Cloud Region in Jeddah and anticipates another forthcoming region in the futuristic city of NEOM. With the Riyadh Cloud Region now operational, Oracle’s presence in the Middle East and North Africa has expanded to eight Cloud Regions, underscoring the company’s commitment to the region’s growing technological needs.
The launch of the Riyadh Cloud Region follows the plans and investment details revealed in February 2023, following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
Saudi Arabia's drive towards digital transformation is significantly supported by its progressive business and technology policies, reflected in the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030. This visionary plan focuses on economic diversification, attracting foreign investment, developing cutting-edge infrastructure in exclusive business and leisure zones, and creating futuristic cities like NEOM. Oracle’s new Riyadh Cloud Region is a testament to the Kingdom's commitment to becoming a global technology hub and enhancing its digital landscape.
