Adidas announced Manchester United’s highly anticipated home kit for the season, 2024/25, unveiling a design that pays homage to the club’s rich heritage while embracing innovation for the modern season.
Inspired by the legendary uniforms worn by the Busby Babes in the 1950s, known for their remarkable use of luminous material to improve visibility under lighting, the new kit features an alluring red colour. This gradient effect, which ranges from light to dark red, creates a sharp texture that changes with the play of light—a nod to the color-changing quality of the historic jerseys’. Sam Handy, Adidas SVP of product and design, highlighted the kit's innovation and link to Manchester United's DNA by stating that red continues to be central to the club's identity. Designed for high performance, the jersey integrates Adidas’ novel technology, the on-pitch version features HEAT.RDY for increased breathability, while the fan version uses AEROREADY to keep supporters comfortable.
Currently, the on-field kit costs €150, the fan version €100, and is available in Manchester club stores, selected Adidas retailers, and online. The release marks a new chapter in the partnership between Adidas and Manchester United, blending tradition with innovation to prepare both players and fans for the season ahead.
