“LifeChange offers holistic counselling and mental health support in both the private and public sectors, while also collaborating with churches, community groups, clinics, businesses, non-profits, and other organizations.”
Reliable and inclusive support networks are more important than ever in a world where mental health issues, trauma, and challenges are increasing and affecting every aspect of society. LifeChange Resources addresses this essential need by providing transformational services that heal, grow, and flourish with compassionate, integrated care. An organization dedicated to holistic healing and empowerment, they stand as testaments to the lifelong passion and perseverance of their founder, Jodi Bryant.
Jodi Bryant, a former public-school teacher with a Bachelor of Education in Music and Psychology, devoted decades to helping students and families navigate challenges, including trauma and adversity. Her career progressed from being a pastor’s wife and executive life coach to earning a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and becoming an ordained reverend.
LifeChange Resources began as a free volunteer service, offering coaching and support to those grappling with emotional, mental, spiritual, and relational challenges. Guided by Jodi’s holistic approach to wellness—encompassing body, soul, and spirit—the initiative grew into a successful coaching and counseling company. The Spectrum of Vitality©, a self-evaluation tool Jodi developed, became a cornerstone for assessing client needs. Many individuals, churches, and corporations were attracted to this work and confirmed the growing need for faith-based mental health support.
The integration of Reconciliation Resources, a charity originally rooted in Jodi’s songwriting and passion for fostering healing, brought a deeper dimension to LifeChange. The organization has grown organically over the years, with founder Jodi Bryant initially surveying her community to identify local needs. While not seeking expansion, the company’s success has led to long waitlists and plans to add more counselors and create publications to better prepare future professionals. Jodi’s long-term vision includes reaching underserved regions, such as Africa, and expanding the team to provide excellent service to diverse communities. She is focused on building a larger leadership team to guide the company’s continued growth.
We at Business Honor had the privilege to interview Jodi Bryant, the founder of LifeChange Resources, whose dedication and innovative approach are reshaping the setting of holistic mental health and family support.
Interview Highlights
Q. LifeChange Resources offers various solutions and services to address different needs. Could you provide us with an overview of your main offerings and the kind of challenges they aim to solve?
LifeChange offers holistic counselling and mental health support in both the private and public sectors, while also collaborating with churches, community groups, clinics, businesses, non-profits, and other organizations. We’ve worked with church plants, businesses, and ministries using LifeChange and Reconciliation Resources, which has charity status under the Great Commission Foundation. We provide support for spiritual, emotional (managing & expressing moods), mental health, and relational healing through psychoeducation, facilitation, one-on-one or small group support for individuals, families, couples, youth, and children. We assist those struggling with issues like alcoholism, chemical dependency, abuse, eating disorders, sexual issues, trauma, childhood adversity, divorce, grief, and more. LifeChange and our donors keep costs low, offering virtually no charge for those served by our charity, Reconciliation Resources (RR). We also have volunteer Master-level students and post-graduate volunteers, many of whom have healed and returned to serve in these groups as testimonies of their freedom and growth.
Q. LifeChange Resources emphasizes a holistic approach to well-being by offering a variety of therapeutic modalities. Could you elaborate on the different types of therapy available through your services? How do these approaches cater to the diverse needs of your clients, and what can individuals expect when they engage in these different therapeutic processes?
I am trained in many modalities and integrate them into my practice. I educate, listen, and emotionally connect. I don’t just do counseling or coaching as a job; I see this work as a calling. I work with anyone seeking healing and willing to do the work.
I believe in the harmony of the soul (mind, will, emotions, and personality), the spirit, and the body. My faith is important, and those who choose to explore spiritual issues know that I can support them. My 15+ years of training in inner emotional healing and integrating Christ-Centered Interventions with Spirit-led Illumination in caring for the discipleship of the soul form the center for those who desire to explore. Integrating the Holy Spirit into a session brings transformational moments. We connect with First Nations, African, Filipino, Pakistani, and other communities. Having personally overcome fear, depression, anxiety, trauma, and insecurity, I offer vulnerable authenticity when helping others. My approach is diverse and adaptable to each client’s needs.
Sessions often combine coaching, counseling, and educational tools. Some counseling contracts are solution-focused or one-time sessions, while others, like Gottman marriage counseling, are longer-term, and some are more clinical for deeper, intense issues.
Q. As the company continues to evolve, what are your long-term goals for LifeChange Resources? Where do you see the company in five years? What are LifeChange Resources’ plans for the future?
We continue to embrace new opportunities. LC is expanding to reach more diverse clientele with Josephine on board. We’re also considering an international reach to make a larger difference. I am doing more speaking and writing, using new platforms to bring healing to a broader audience. My waitlist can often exceed a month. We’re considering adding more counselors beyond Josephine and producing publications to help future supervisees enter the field more prepared. LC is growing to include experts in various fields.
I’ve worked with BIPOC communities and others and want to expand our team to include therapists with diverse expertise. The more LC grows, the more our charity can generate funds to make a difference. I’m excited about collaborating with global regions like Africa, where resources are scarce. I want to continue taking wise steps as we build a larger leadership team.
Q. How would you describe your experience navigating the challenges in your industry, and what advice would you give to new businesses looking to make a mark in this space?
The industry is becoming flooded, with many people wanting to be counselors or coaches. I saw this coming a decade ago and pursued it, but not everyone is cut out for this deep work. There is a great need, and if people are well-trained and passionate about helping others, that’s wonderful. However, maintaining
credentials is expensive, as is schooling, and the rate to charge isn’t always sustainable. That’s why I taught until LifeChange was established. Insurers aren’t always recognizing those with adequate qualifications to help clients’ access benefits.
Counseling and therapy are costly, so anyone entering this field must do so with passion, self-care, and certainty that they are called to this work. It’s emotionally heavy, and the stories heard can be heartbreaking. Running a business in this field is risky, but if you invest your time, energy, and resources into helping others, the law of sowing and reaping will bless you.
Self-care and support are crucial, and having a personal coach or counselor is helpful. Everything costs, including running a business, so learn from others, stay humble, and don’t pretend to be an expert where you aren’t. Be kind but also challenge and ask tough questions. Use your influence to support other companies doing similar work. We can’t save people, but we can influence, resource, and love them into healing. Know your limits and take care of yourself first. Offering more than just counseling will help you build a sustainable business. It takes time to build, but if you love what you do, share your heart and stay true to your mission.
