Business Honor

Auria Pelvic Health is a premier clinical practice redefining whole-person pelvic and orthopedic healthcare. Founded in 2023 in Los Angeles by Dr. Sasha Speer, DPT, Auria emerged from Dr. Speer’s personal experience with C-section recovery and endometriosis, paired with an executive mission to dismantle the fragmented, high-volume model endemic to modern medicine.
Auria positions pelvic therapy not as reactive symptom management, but as a core catalyst for long-term vitality, mobility, and confidence. Serving a diverse clientele—including active professionals, postpartum patients, and individuals managing chronic pain—the practice delivers tailored, high-touch interventions across pelvic, core, and orthopedic disciplines by prioritizing root-cause resolution over isolated diagnoses.
Extending its footprint beyond the clinical setting, Auria actively expands into community education, professional development, and innovative wellness products. By integrating clinical excellence with proactive lifestyle strategy, the firm is setting a new industry benchmark for sustainable health outcomes.
Inside the Vision of Dr. Sasha Speer, DPT
Auria Pelvic Health treats a wide range of pelvic health conditions. How do you personalize care for each patient's unique needs?
Personalization begins with listening. Two people can have the same diagnosis and need very different care. We look at symptoms, medical history, movement, strength, mobility, breathing, posture, nervous system regulation, stress, sleep, lifestyle, goals, and the patient’s lived experience. We also ask what the person wants to return to—whether that is exercise, intimacy, running, lifting, parenting, work, or simply moving through daily life without fear.
From there, we build an individualized plan and continually adapt it based on the patient’s response. Education is a major part of our process because we want patients to understand their bodies and become active participants in their recovery.
Your approach focuses on treating the root cause rather than just the symptoms. How does this philosophy shape your treatment process?
Symptoms are important information, but they are not always the full story. Pelvic pain, leakage, urgency, constipation, painful intercourse, or core dysfunction can be influenced by factors elsewhere in the body and by the nervous system. Our job is to ask why the symptom is occurring and what is sustaining it.
That means we assess beyond the pelvic floor. We may look at the spine, hips, breathing mechanics, abdominal wall, movement strategies, strength, mobility, load tolerance, and nervous system sensitivity. This root-cause mindset helps us create treatment that is more precise and helps patients build resilience rather than relying indefinitely on symptom management.
Pelvic health is often overlooked. How is Auria Pelvic Health helping to raise awareness and improve access to specialized care?
A large part of our work is education. Many people do not realize that pelvic floor therapy exists, that their symptoms are treatable, or that pelvic health is relevant across different ages and stages of life. We work to normalize these conversations through patient education, digital resources, community workshops, clinician education, and relationships with referral partners.
We also want pelvic health to feel approachable rather than intimidating. By explaining what care involves and giving people practical information before they ever enter the clinic, we can reduce stigma and help patients seek support earlier.
How do therapies such as pelvic floor rehabilitation, and other integrated techniques enhance patient outcomes?
We use techniques as tools within a larger clinical strategy—not as one-size-fits-all solutions. Depending on the patient, care may include pelvic floor rehabilitation, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, mobility work, breathing retraining, nervous system regulation, movement and lifting education, and home programming.
The value comes from selecting the right intervention for the right person at the right time. Hands-on treatment may help reduce pain or improve mobility, while exercise and education help the patient translate those changes into everyday function. The goal is always durable progress and greater independence.
What sets Auria Pelvic Health's one-on-one, whole-body approach apart from traditional pelvic health treatment?
Our model gives patients dedicated, private, one-on-one time with a clinician and allows us to see the person rather than only the diagnosis. We consider the pelvic floor as part of an interconnected system that includes the musculoskeletal system, nervous system, breathing, movement, lifestyle, and personal goals.
Our clinical philosophy can be summarized in four principles: Listen First, See the Whole Picture, Find the Root Cause, and Build Lasting Health. Those principles shape both the clinical decisions we make and the experience we want every patient to have: feeling heard, understood, connected, and empowered.
How do collaborations with healthcare and wellness professionals strengthen the care and support you provide to patients?
Pelvic health rarely exists in isolation, so collaboration is essential. We build relationships with physicians, midwives, doulas, mental health professionals, acupuncturists, fitness professionals, and other wellness providers when coordinated care can better support the patient.
These partnerships help create continuity. They also allow each professional to contribute their area of expertise while keeping the patient’s larger goals at the center. We want Auria to function as part of a thoughtful care ecosystem rather than as a silo.
What are Auria Pelvic Health's key priorities or growth plans over the next few years?
Our long-term vision is to grow Auria from an exceptional pelvic health practice into a broader ecosystem for lifelong health and wellness. That includes expanding access to clinical care, developing clinician education and training, strengthening community and professional partnerships, creating workshops and digital resources, and building innovative pathways that support people beyond rehabilitation.
We are also interested in prevention and wellness—helping people build strength, mobility, confidence, and resilience before a problem becomes limiting. As we grow, the priority is to preserve the quality, humanity, and individualized attention that define Auria.
