Ram Charan's Game Changer Misses Box Office Expectations

Ram Charan’s Game Changer struggles at the box office, failing to hit expected collection marks.

Ram Charan's Game Changer, his first film as a solo hero after six years, has failed to make an impact at the box office despite high expectations. Almost fortnight since release, Shankar's film cannot even breach Rs 200 cr worldwide and the Rs 150 crore mark in the country. The total worldwide collection of Game Changer after its second Wednesday stands at Rs 181.75 crore according to the latest update from industry tracker Sacnilk. The overseas collections for the film are at Rs 30.25 crore.

The domestic collection of the film in India stands at Rs 151.5 crore with a net collection of Rs 128.05 crore. However, the movie has not been able to hold on to momentum at the box office as the daily collection slid below Rs 1 crore after the second Monday. On Wednesday, the collection of the film dropped to Rs 0.75 crore across all languages. The failure to exceed the Rs 200 crore marks will be due in part to being in competition with the still going houseful Pushpa 2 and an inflated opening and first week, as the maker's box office reports have indicated. The film, earlier reported to have collected more than Rs 186 crore in three days worldwide, was initially inflated. Now it is said to have not received such amounts; instead, collections are short of those reported initially.

Occupancy for the film has also been low, and this time the Telugu version had an overall occupancy rate of 12.58%, while that of the Hindi version stands at 7.43%. Highest occupancy in Telugu was at Karimnagar, which recorded 63% occupancy for the film. So far, Game Changer's Telugu version has grossed Rs 86.59 crore, while the Hindi version has earned Rs 32 crore.
